Hooking up communities with heaps of great music often ignored on commercial stations, independent radio celebrates all that’s innovative and daring. As independent stations operate as non-profits, listener and community support is vital. So, to help independent radio continue to thrive, Toyota created Free Yr Radio.
Now in its fifth year, Free Yr Radio is back with even bigger plans to help keep independent radio alive and kicking. We’re inviting stations to seven major music events across the country, from Lollapalooza in Chicago to the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans. At each festival, stations record and broadcast special live performances and interviews with artists from the Free Yr Radio broadcast stage — and on live radio, anything can happen.
So tune in and get to know our 2011 benefit stations — these are the folks that keep your airwaves interesting!
